Dave Gahan and Soulsavers – Angels and Ghosts – Both successful in their own right, Dave Gahan (of Depeche Mode) and Soulsavers (UK producing and electronic duo) drop their second collaboration together on Columbia Records. Rich Machin says of the project, “I always like to create a lot of space.” Gahan certainly does a good job filling the electro-blues atmospheres with his signature sultry voice.  Check out the video for “All of This and Nothing” below. FUZZ

Fuzz – II – Freaky garage rock favorite Ty Segall, along with Charlie Moothart on guitar/vocals and Chad Ubovich on bass, release their second mind melting work. The group’s label, In the Red Records, says of the heavy-psych-ers, “The mood is not light. The songs project a state of perpetual paranoia and eroding mental health.” How the band makes that sound enjoyable is a pure form of magic, reserved for the great. Check out “Pollinate” below. They just began their extensive tour of the US last week. To find out more and pre-order the LP, visit In the Red Records

Half Moon Run – Sun Leads Me On – These Montreal based indie-pop folkies bring dark melodies and show a range of influences from dance-rock to beautiful piano tinged stunners on their sophomore effort. Their Canadian and European tour is nearly Sold Out on every date, but you can still get tickets to see them in the US. Check out the lead single from the album, “Trust”, below, and purchase Sun Leads Me On from Indica Records

Joanna Newsom – Divers – Bringing the baroque and chamber pop elements again to her fourth album, Joanna Newsome is as charming as ever. Whilst prancing around New York City, in her video for “Sapokanikan” Joanna uses obscure references to tell a tragic story about Native American burial grounds in NYC. Her quirky song-writing style shines over the soothing piano, horns and flute on the single. Purchase the LP on Drag City.
